Interview with LaVeda Jones

Overflow is just a few short days away!!  We can’t wait to see you and your children on Friday night.   We have one last breakout speaker to introduce to you.  LaVeda Jones is new to our Overflow family this year and flying in from Chicago to join us.  She is a terrific speaker, author, entrepreneur and also a single mom.  We wanted you to get to know a little about her before meeting her this weekend.  Her breakout session will be centered around FORGIVENESS as the key to healing and living in freedom, and I for one cannot wait to hear what she has to teach. Here is LaVeda in her own words…

What do you do for a profession?

I am the founder of Professional Services and Mentoring (PSM) for Single Parents an organization that supports, mentors and educates single parents. I am the CEO and Founder of nowlEDGE Authority a graphic design and business solutions company that support small and mid size companies. I am also the the author of Raising A Prince Without A King “A Single Mother’s Journey to Victory”.

What is your favorite hobby or past time?

I enjoy traveling with my family and taking annual girlfriend trips with my two college buddies. I absolutely love trying new restaurants and finding my new favorite dish. But most of all I enjoy helping others reach their goals and discovering their passions in life.

Will this be your first time to visit Houston? What do you think about Tex-Mex and BBQ?

This is my third visit to Houston, I have never eaten Tex-Mex food but I have enjoyed Texas BBQ.

What is your hope for the women attending the Overflow conference?

That each woman would come with an expectation that God would move and answer prayers on their behalf. Feeling excited that they are loved, appreciated, beloved and cared for with perfection from the Father.

What has been the biggest blessing in your walk as a single mom? What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest blessing as a single mom was watching God take my misery and create ministry for single parents just like me. My biggest challenge was trusting and believing that God would provide and take care of my family.

We want to thank LaVeda for taking the time to share with us a little about her life and her hopes for you this weekend.  We know that the Lord is preparing a mighty message through all of our speakers.  We are praying protection over you and your children this week leading up to Overflow.  We will see you on Friday night!  We love you!
