Melissa is still a single Mom, NOT a still single Mom but a single Mom still…(ok ok I think you guys get it). One thing you will learn about Melissa right away is that she loves to make you laugh! She loves that Jesus let’s her be funny, even more than she loves queso. Melissa has just recently moved back to Houston after a few years working in Austin and is super excited to be HOME. Her daughter, Kyleigh just graduated from the University of Arkansas and is headed down under – yep AUSTRALIA!!! Melissa tried to ground her from leaving but it didn’t work! At the first Overflow gathering, Melissa was our opening speaker and we are so so happy to have her back with us this year! She has a full time job, but would much rather be on stage making others crack up and fall in love with Jesus all over again! Melissa loves red lipstick, super fun hair styles, laughing at all the ridiculousness in life and spending precious time with her beautiful daughter.
Melissa is a Client Principal for Manpower at Caterpillar which means she managers all of the Contract-Temporary workers. 560 of them! She has been doing this type work for 22 years. In her spare time she loves to do karaoke and work out at Camp Gladiator bootcamp – and by working out she means run a little and people watch. SHE CAN flip a tire though so be careful!
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Worship at Bayou City Fellowship is an expression of our commitment to lifting high the name of Jesus by singing God’s praises through authentic and biblical songs. Rather than one voice singled out over others, we strive to be living sacrifices, joining as one unified voice of praise to our Lord and King Jesus. We believe in full diversity of modern songs and traditional hymns that magnify all the characteristics of God for His glory. Our prayer is that you would experience God’s presence with us in worship as a family as we all fix our focus and intent on Jesus.
Ally is an educator, choreographer, and performer in the Houston area. She has choreographed a number of musicals and events at Houston high schools, elementary schools, and community theaters. She has been a volunteer with Overflow since the first conference and loves the day spent serving and loving these Overflow families. Ally believes that the art of dance worship can bring out so much in the hearts of both the dancers and the audience. Ally teaches the girls of Talitha Cumi that a worship leader overflows from their own cup of worship (Psalm 23), invites others into communion with God (Psalm 66), proclaims the glory of God (Psalm 145), and lives the life of one who is loved by God.
