FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who will be able to attend?
Overflow is designed for women raising children on their own. If you are divorced, widowed, never married, have adopted a child without a spouse, have an incarcerated husband, are a grandmother raising grandchildren, or have a spouse stationed overseas in the military, YOU are invited to join us at Overflow. No matter how long or short you have been a single mother or how young or grown your children are, Overflow is for you!
But my situation is unique. Will this apply to me?
There are many kinds of single moms, each with a special story. We welcome any woman raising children alone, if even it has been for a short time. Our breakout sessions will consist of varied topics for women from all life situations.
Can I bring my children?
The Overflow Kid's Program and Middle School Program will be providing an opportunity for your children - ages 2 months (vaccinations required) through middle school - to worship and grow in their faith in a safe and fun environment. We are limited in space and will have to close registration for children when rooms are full. Registration is required so that we can be prepared with enough volunteers and workers to care for your children. We thoroughly screen our volunteers with background checks and provide specific training for our program. Before arriving on Friday, please feed your children dinner. However, they will be served a snack on Friday evening and lunch and snacks on Saturday. In order to allow moms time to learn, pray, connect, laugh, sing, and reflect, children are not allowed in the main sessions or the breakout sessions. We have a room available for nursing mothers where you will be able to feed your baby comfortably, and still hear the session in the main worship center.
What will my children do in the Kid's Program?
Your children will be having fun! There are intentional activities planned for the entire day. They will enjoy Bible stories, crafts, games and organized play. You can relax knowing your children are cared for by our trained Kid’s Program volunteers and workers who are excited about loving your kids.
What about my Middle School student?
We also have a fun program for your middle school students led by our Bayou City Fellowship Cypress Student Ministry. Register your students under the Kid's Program and include their current school/grade. This program is designed for students entering 6th grade through exiting 8th grade.
What can I expect at this event?
Overflow will leave you encouraged and energized to continue on your journey! There will be motivating and entertaining messages from our keynote speaker, many interesting breakout session options, question and answer panel discussion, and inspiring music by the Bayou City Fellowship Worship team. Also included are a lovely lunch, afternoon treats, and wonderful door prizes! There will be small group discussion time which is a great opportunity to network and connect with other women.
Can I be a speaker at the conference?
It is our desire to assemble a team of breakout session speakers to inspire, educate, and encourage single mothers. If you would like to be considered as a speaker at our conference, email your personal and professional information with references to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your information will be reviewed and we will contact you soon!
